Welcome to the consultation website for proposals at Land North of Southend. This website has been created to support early engagement on an emerging mixed-use development to the north of Southend, which has the potential to deliver much-needed new homes alongside supporting infrastructure, open space and community uses.

We are at a very early stage of developing our proposals for an outline planning application. This consultation is therefore the start of a long-term conversation with you about the principles of our development. In the coming months and years, we would like to share more details about our designs, which will come forward over several phases.

As part of this process, Bellway Strategic Land is pleased to have submitted a EIA Scoping Request to Southend City Council, as we make clear our interest in bringing forward a new chapter in Southend’s story by delivering much needed new homes and community infrastructure.

As part of this consultation process, we are providing an overview of our vision for two areas of land which we are calling Garon East & Bakers Gate. We will also be asking you what your thoughts are on the need for homes in Southend, and what is important for you to see come forward in our future plans. You can have your say, either by reading the information on this website and completing a feedback form, or attending one of our in-person events at the following dates and times.
